Enameled Aluminum Wire can work continuously under 130C and 150C.lt has excellent and electrical properties and is suitable for winding in general motors of class B and F and coils of electrical instrument.
Enamelled copper wire will have a higher resistance per unit length, because the cross-sectional area of copper is less (it’s the diameter of the copper core that matters, and that is of course less than the outside diameter by twice the thickness of enamel).
The difference is the enamel insulation. Bare copper wire formed into coil turns could become short-circuited and have no more effect in its magnetism.
You can't use bare copper for coil windings. It would be like having a shorted coil. The varnish or enamel gives a coating thick enough to insulate from shorting and thin enough to allow for efficient induction.
If you use bare copper wire the current will just flow right across adjacent coils without going through the loops.Kind of like short-circuiting. To make an electromagnet you should always use enamelled copper wire.
Of course, if you are winding a coil of touching turns, bare copper is a non-starter because the turns would short-circuit together.
